Bobbie McCarter Obituary

Mrs.BobbieJean McCarter, 78, of Hedgesville, WV, passed away at her home on August 8, 2012 under the care of Hospice and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James S. McCarter.

Born on July 26, 1934 in Travelers Rest, SC, she was the daughter of the late William P. Coster and Beatrice C. Lindsay Coster. Bobbie always put her family first. Even in the last days of her life she was still telling them when they needed to leave her be and get their rest. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and an amazing grandmother. She was a very easy woman to love. She enjoyed traveling, especially to visit her family in South Carolina. She loved her job of working with Stonebrook Homes Clients.

Surviving are her two daughters, Ann McCarter of Hedgesville, WV and Jean McCarter Phillips of Frederick, MD & husband Michael; and grandchildren Dustin, Zachary, and Allyson Phillips. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carroll Coster. She is also survived by two brothers, Gary Coster & wife Myra, and Mick Coster &wife Lois of Travelers Rest, SC; her sister Beverly McKenzie & husband Henry of Myrtle Beach, SC; and various nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 11 at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, where a funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Interment will follow in the Veterans Garden of Honor at Resthaven; the Rev. Terri Cofiell will officiate. Floral tributes are welcome. Arrangements are with Resthaven Funeral Services, Skkot Cody P.A. in Frederick.
