James Frederick Richardson, Sr., 94, of Rosemont, MD, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.Born April 7, 1918 in Nebraska, he was the son of the late Ethel Austin Richardson and Lola Mayoa Prazzo Richardson.James was a brick layer in the construction industry, retiring in 1989 and in 1978 he was executive Vice President of Brick Layers and Alliance Craftsman.He was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church in Brunswick, MD and a veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II.James was a member of the VFW in Frederick, MD, the Lions Club in Brunswick, MD, a Master Master in Omaha, Neb. and, over 75 year gold card member of Local No. 1 Nebraska Bricklayers.He helped Habitat for Humanity in Frederick, MD and Atlanta GA, constructing homes for 15 years.He also went to Granada with the Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick to build churches and worked for Red Bird Missionary, building schools. James was a former commissioner of Rosemont, MD. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Helen Nagle Richardson, at home; two sons, James Richardson, Jr. of Rosemont, MD and Nathan Richardson of Warrenton, VA; two daughters, Dawn Kaufman of Indiana; and Julianne Stopper and husband, David, of South Lake, Texas, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two nephews.Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Frederick Memorial Hospital, Hospice of Frederick, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.Arrangements are by the John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick, MD.
