Mr. Joseph Samuel "Jim" Baugher Sr., 89 of Frederick, MD, passed away at his home on November 2, 2012, with family by his side.

Joseph was born on January26,1923 in Walkersville, MD. He was son of the late Roy Clinton and Mary ElizabethWilhide Baugher.

Joseph enlisted in the United States Navy (1941- 1947), was a World War II veteran, and earnedthe European and Pacific Medals. After he returned home from the navy he worked at Three Springs Fisheries and later became a painter, and then a farmer.

After retiring, he enjoyed reading books, jigsaw puzzles and bird watching.

Joseph was a member of American Legion - FSK Post 11. Joseph is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mabel King Baugher. In 1951, they were Dairy Farmers in Dickerson, MD before they retired in 1992.

They raised six children:Joseph Samuel Baugher Jr., who preceded him in death in 1994, Michael Lee Baugher and wife Terri of New York. Charles Allen Baugher and wife Emiko of Boonsboro, Diana Jane Baugher Pearrell and husband Butch of Boonsboro, Donald James Baugher of Frederick and Linda Kay Baugher of Frederick.

Also survived his eight grandchildren: Rebecca Harty, Gregory Baugher,Jason Baugher, Jennifer Tressler, Michael Pearrell, James Pearrell, Miki Baugher and Cindi Baugher, six great- grandchildren: Kirsten Smith, Joe Baugher, Noah Tressler, Lily Tressler, Faith Harty and Peyton Baugher.

Also survived by his sisters Hilda Merson and Peggy Snoots and a brother Richard Baugher, and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sister: Roy, Franklin, John, Martin Baugher and Edna Dove.

Visitation will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012. Reverend Lloyd Fuss will officiate.

Interment will follow in Glade Cemetery, Walkersville. Online condolences maybe made to the family at staufferfuneralhome.com.
