Deborah "Debbi" Carol Tawney Hawk, 58, of Westminster died January 9, 2014, at Citizen Nursing Home in Frederick.|
Born April 26, 1955 in Baltimore she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ruby Tawney.
She was a graduate of Westminster High School class of 1973. She was a dispatcher for the City of Frederick and also a secretary for Airline Owners and Pilots Association where she distributed maps and charts for the airline industry. She attended Catonsville Community College where she graduated with a degree in Geriatric Nursing. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandsons. She also enjoyed facebook, and playing pogo and internet bingo. She was a member of the VFW Mollesville Farm Post #467 Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the American Legion Carroll Post 31.
Surviving her are children Nikki Nelson Jessee of Thurmont, John K. Hawk Jr. and fiance Shawna Maggard of Union Bridge. A brother-in-law and sister Mike and Cindy Tawney Kahn of Woodstock. Special friend Richard. Nephew and Niece Cybill and Chad Birmingham. Grandchildren Travis, Tyler, Jacob, Jeramy and Joseph.
A Celebration of Life service will be Tuesday at 7pm from the Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Frederick County, 516 Trail Ave., Frederick MD 21701.
