Richard Long Obituary
Richard E. Long, age 80, of Pickerington, passed away at Mt. Carmel East Hospital on December 28, 2014. Dick was born August 21, 1934 to the late Theodore and Ethel (Troxell) Long in Iamsville, MD. He served his country for 21 years in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. Dick then worked for Harper Management, a McDonald's franchisee, and retired after 20 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lois (Bittner) Long; daughter, Debra (Roger) Brabb; grandchildren, Travis (Amy) Brabb, Lindsay Brabb, Tyler Brabb; great-grandchildren, Valerie, Tori, Eliott; 3 brothers; 1 sister; and several nieces & nephews. Dick is preceded in death by 1 brother. A funeral service will be held on MONDAY, January 5, 2015, at 12Noon, St. John's United Church of Christ, Sabillasville. His burial will immediately follow the service in Blue Ridge Cemetery in Thurmont. In lieu of flowers, donation's may be made in Dick's memory to the Ronald McDonald House.
