Joseph Mauzy Obituary

Joseph Kemp Mauzy, Jr., 90, of Knoxville, MD, formerly of Harpers Ferry, WV, died on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Broadmore Senior Living in Hagerstown, MD.

Born July 17, 1927 in Charles Town, WV, he was the son of the late Joseph Kemp Mauzy, Sr. and Annie Lucinda Zombro Mauzy.

He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Harpers Ferry.

Jay was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1945-1947 as a photographer in Japan.

After his retirement from the federal government, Jay volunteered at the Harpers Ferry National Park for many years.

He is survived by his brother, Edmund W. Mauzy and wife, Mary Ann of Knoxville, MD, numerous cousins and special friend, Regina Jones.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 668, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425.

Sorry for your loss. I had lots of good times roller skating in Berryville, Purcellville and Braddock Heights with Jay and Chirpy.
