To Colleen's family, and her mother, my friend Beth,
I was so very sorry to hear of Colleen's passing; Missy Keenan shared the sad news with me today. I know we haven't spoken in some time but I can so clearly remember you sharing with us the events of both of your lovely daughters lives; pictures and occasions and celebrations. Her picture shines with her beauty, and I know from your many stories, of her interior beauty as well. I know that your heart must be broken but please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you and keep you all in His loving comfort.
My sincere condolences,
Therese Abruzzese

Casey:

I was very saddened to hear about your wife's passing.

You may not remember me - you and your family lived in Kensington, Maryland by the Mormon Temple when you were real little. You all lived on Stoneybrook Drive and I lived around the corner on LaDuke Drive. Me and your brother Pat were good friends back then. Back then, you were the little boy that called me "Gimme" because you could not pronounce the letter "J".

I have not seen you and your family in more than 35 years. I did not know your wife, but her passing really touched me. It sounds like she was truly a wonderful person.

I wanted to reach out and offer my sincerest condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I pray that God's Word will comfort and keep you and your family during this time.

Colleen, words cannot convey the sadness I felt when I was told of your passing. There are so many words to describe what you meant to all of us, and what you meant to the world.
Today, I discovered that you loved yellow roses, so I decided to research their meaning. Yellow roses are described as representing the sun's life-giving warmth, as well as friendship, optimism, joy, and wisdom. These, you possessed and radiated in abundance. Our little group will never be the same without you, yet we are certainly more whole because of you. I wish you God's peace <3

Dear Casey,
My wife, Judy, and I were both shocked and saddened when we read the account in the Frederick News Post of Colleen's passing. Though I never had the pleasure of meeting her, I felt as though I had through our conversations at the YMCA over the years. Please know that you, your family, and Colleen's family are being lifted in prayer. John 3: 16. Yours in Christ, Denny and Judy Cromwell

Colleen was a real sweetheart, a genuinely nice person who would do all she could for you whether you were a close friend or a complete stranger. It is impossible to think of a reason for her to be taken from us so soon. She will be missed by all. The world seems a little darker now that she's gone. May her spirit live on through those she's touched.

Although I didn't know Colleen personally, this has affected me in many ways. So, we owned Donnelly's for 14 years which was sold to Kim Firesone. My husband, Mark Donnelly passed at age 51. Both Colleen and Mark passed to young. I know from the very little that I do that Colleen made a great impact in people's lives. And so, my Mark did too. Colleen is so beautiful looking at her picture (I really mean this) and I now see was more beautiful inside. The restaurant business gives one the opportunity to touch many lives. Only those that are grounded and authentic do, there are many impostors. So Colleen was a beautiful, true, caring, loving one. I just see similar traits in my Mark and Colleen. I wish I had her as my friend. Also, I have two beautiful daughters now in there 30's with so much in their futures. I don't get why Colleen's life was taken to soon.
But, I'm so sorry for all the family for this grief filled time. Ahhh.......hugs!

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this note. For our family Coll is just forever young. She was our daughter Kate's very best friend in high school and spent many nights at our dinner table. She always brought with her that infectious smile and that wry Irish wit. Time has a way of slipping away too quickly. And while that was 23 years ago Colleen remains in our minds and hearts forever that wonderful sweet and very funny Irish Colleen. How lucky we were to
have shared that time with her. I can still hear that giggle, that wonderful wonderful giggle. Thanks, Colleen for those happy times.

Dearest Colleen,
Our meditation group and I are missing you so much. You're the heart of us. You quietly added so much depth to our discussions and we felt safe opening up to you. I hope you know how much you meant to us, to me.
Safe journeys, wonderful adventures.
Much love, Ann
