Eileen age 84, of Rochester, MI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 18th, 2017, after her courageous battle with cancer. She will be missed by family, friends and the thousands of military personnel Eileen gave council and care to over the years. Eileen was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 1st, 1933 to parents Ray and Eileen Schnorf. She spent her early years in Milwaukee, graduating from Holy Angels Catholic High School. Eileen went on to attend Marquette University, where she met her husband, Norman Kaplan. After leaving school, Eileen went to work as a flight attendant for United Airlines and a commercial actress. Eileen went back to school and finished her undergraduate degree at Wayne State University, at the age of 50 years old. Eileen then earned her Masters of Social Degree from Wayne State, starting a private practice that lasted 20 years. Once Norman passed away, Eileen began a career as a military contractor, working on military bases around the world. This commitment to the military lasted 15 years, just shy of her 84th birthday. Proceeded her in death, her husband of 45 years, Norman Kaplan, as well as her parents and brothers, James, Richard and Robert. Her sister Patricia survives. Eileen is also survived by her sons, Joe (Judy), Mike, Dave (Sylvia), John (Anne). Grandchildren Kellie, Courtney, Brittany, Sarah (Evan), Emily, Jacob, Natalie, Nicole, Sunset and Great Grandson Donovan. A special thank you to Gordon Gnas, who was like a son to her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Eileen's name to the Wounded Warriors Project. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23rd at 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Nie Funeral Home, 2400 Carpenter Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48108, with a prayer service at 5:15 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 24th at St Thomas Catholic Church, 530 Elizabeth St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. Burial services will be held at a later date.

This is sad news. I have such wonderful memories of Eileen, Norm and the boys.
I called Eileen a couple years ago to let her know my father had passed, but no answer.
I hope you boys are all well. Thinking of you
