Roger was born in Cedar City. Ut., on October 30, 1937, to Roy and Helen Hart. He passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013. He was raised in Santa Cruz and Easton, Ca. After his brief stay at Fresno City College, he became an apprentice carpenter before entering the United States Coast Guard. Roger returned to Fresno where he continued his construction career. After he married Sue Savory, they moved to Konawa, Ok. with their three daughters where they established a convenience store and ski boat business. He returned to Fresno in 1974, and worked for the Ed Wills Company. Roger's passion for street-rodding began in early high school. He became a member of the Pan Draggers car club in 1957, and thus became a "Life Member" in 2012. He eventually founded Hart Enterprises, a street-rod component manufacturing business. During this period of time he also got into drag boat racing as a partner and owner. In 1982, he married Susan Morrison. He introduced her and her two children to street-rodding, and spent the next 25 years attending various street-rodding events where Roger's talent and knowledge of street-rod manufacturing was known as second to none. He is survived by Susan, his wife of 31 years; his daughters, Katie Morrison and her husband Mike Bierly, Lea Carson and her husband Kent, Debra Streight and her husband Robert, and Charlene Yeatts and her husband Bob; grandchildren, Katy Streight and Matthew Brotherton: and many close friends. Per Roger's wishes, there will be no service, and he will be buried at sea with his son, David Morrison. There will be a Celebration of Rogers Life at 2706 W, Ashlan Ave, on Sunday, November 10, 2013, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Remembrances may be made to the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation, 804 W. Diamond Ave., Suite 210; Gaithersburg, MD 20878; or Ronald McDonald House of Fresno; or Big Brothers Big Sister of Central California. Dear Susan and Family,
How blessed Rico and I have been to have you and Roger as our friends. My heart aches for your loss. It is a hard one, but the memories will shile brightly, as we have had some wonderful times together. Please know I am praying for you and the family and I'm only a phone call away. God bless you with peace and contentment that you spent 31 years together. Now you must carry on for both of you. I know there's a party going on right now as Rico and all of the rest of the "gang" are watching as Roger's ship is approaching their shore. I know there are lots of cold beers and tri tips awaiting his "homecoming party". Keep the faith and keep the courage to make it through each day, knowing you have been and are loved!
Sherry and Rico in spirit.
