AREIAS, TINA - Los Banos  
Albertina Areias was born in Snelling, CA, and relocated to Dos Palos, CA, at an early age. She attended local schools and graduated from Dos Palos High School in 1941. As a young adult, Tina sang on the radio. In 1945, Tina met her sweetheart, Joseph, and two years later they married. Together, they had four children, Joan, Joseph, Celeste, and Mike. Tina was a homemaker and was very active in her children's lives. She taught Catechism at Sacred Heart School and was involved with 4H and Future Farmers of America. Tina was also very active with Our Lady of Fatima Society and the Los Banos Altar Society. She and her husband loved to travel, and many of their trips were with the Golden-Agers. They traveled extensively throughout the United States, including the Grand Canyon, Graceland, Las Vegas, New Orleans, an Alaskan cruise, and seeing the fall colors of the Eastern states. Their foreign travel included Canada, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, and their homeland, the Azores. Tina loved celebrations. Christmas was her favorite. She never missed any of her children and grandchildren's birthdays. Tina loved good food and good company and never passed on an opportunity to eat tacos. Tina prided herself on never missing Mass, or her hair appointments! She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by Joe, her husband of 62 years; and by her son Joseph. She is survived by her daughters, Joan Lopez of Madera, CA, and Celeste Swenson and her husband Eric of Redwood City, CA; and her son, Mike Areias and his wife Lisa of Dos Palos, CA; her grandchildren, Adam Lopez and his wife Felicia, Aaron Lopez, Bryan Catalli, Alison Catalli, Shannon Varty and her husband Danny, Steven Areias, Luke Schnoor, Logan Schnoor, and Delaney Joe Areias; and two great-grandchildren, Ella Lopez, and Carson Schnoor. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Maria, Jeff, and Nyla Luis, for their compassionate care given to Tina so that she could continue to stay in her home. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Los Banos, CA, on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at 9:30 a.m followed with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. A Burial will follow at the Los Banos District Cemetery. DIAZ, AUDREY LINNE - Henderson  
Audrey was born on December 15, 1961, in Fresno, CA and passed into our Lord's hands on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in Las Vegas, NV after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She attended St. Helen's Catholic School; San Joaquin Memorial High School; and was an alumni of California State University, Fresno. She worked at KMPH, Channel 26, in Fresno as a marketing research assistant. Later, becoming director and producer of the Fox 26 Kids Club where she received many awards. From there, Audrey moved into the marketing department for KMPH. She left Fresno and worked for Fox 5, KVVU, in Las Vegas, NV. She was honored in 2014 by the Nevada Broadcasting Association in their Hall of Fame Gala for her 25 years in the broadcasting industry. She loved all sports and was a big fan of the Fresno State Bulldogs. She was appointed to establish the official club for the Fresno State Alumni Association in Las Vegas. Audrey ran many half marathons and was training for triathlon competitions. Unfortunately, a continual knee problem shortened her goal. In her early high school years, she performed with a local Hawaiian dance group which led to her love of all things Hawaiian. Thus, Hawaii became a favorite destination. Audrey also worked as a dance instructor for Danceworks Unlimited for many years. During her college breaks and summer vacations, she was employed at Disneyland where she worked as various costumed characters. During her illness, she became very involved with the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Audrey did some fashion shows for them and she also walked in the foundation's marathons with her support group "Team Audrey". She was a part of the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Academy Class becoming an auxiliary volunteer for the American Red Cross and the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue. She is survived by her parents, Frank and Delores Diaz; sister, Carrie Goetz and her husband Chris; niece and godchild, Terra Goetz, whom she loved dearly; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Sunday, February 1, 2015, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John's Cathedral on Monday, February 2, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Audrey's memory to the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Southern Nevada; or the SPCA of Las Vegas, NV. JONES, JERRY  
Jerry Alton Jones left this world to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 22, 2015. He was 74 years old. Jerry was born in Pampa, TX on February 3, 1940, to Casey and Lorene Jones. He was married to Della Hinson in 1958, and they had two daughters together, Pamela and Jill. Jerry's son, Mark Bailer is the eldest of Jerry's children. Jerry married Jorja Jones in 1985, and shared an amazing life with her for the rest of his days. He was one of the Valley's top Real Estate Broker's and former co-owner of Century 21 C. Watson/ J&J Realty. An avid hunter and fisherman and a full time family man, Jerry loved God, his family, America, animals, and people. He impacted the lives of those around him immensely and truly made this world a more beautiful place. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Casey Jones and Lorene White; his brother-in-law and best friend, Donald A. Williams; and his granddaughter, Amanda Miller. He is survived by his loving wife; children; and many grandchildren, who will always be grateful for the man that blessed their lives so fully. A Celebration of Jerry's Life will be held at New Covenant Community Baptist Church, 1744 E. MOTTA, DOROTHY  
Dorothy Fay (Poore) Motta, born January 7, 1946, to James and Catherine Poore in Fountain Inn, SC, passed away peacefully at home in Fresno, CA on Saturday, January 24, 2015, from an illness that took her life but never her spirit or love for all the things that she held dear. Dorothy moved to California at an early age and attended Madera schools. She graduated in 1964, from Madera High School, and went on to attend California State University, Fresno, graduating in 1968. She majored in English, and after graduation began a career in education, first teaching at American Union Elementary School, and eventually enriching the lives of her students at Madera Unified School District. She received her Master's degree in Pupil Personnel Counseling from Fresno Pacific College in 1989, and continued in education until she retired as a Counselor from the Madera High School South Campus in 2005. After her retirement, Dorothy continued to be active, achieving whatever new goals she set for herself. She was proud to become a Master Gardener, and through the Master Gardener program she continued to educate while making new and valued friendships. She also enjoyed volunteering with Animal Rescue Foundation, giving comfort to homeless dogs as they transitioned to new homes. She cherished spring time blooms in the San Joaquin Valley and kitchen window views of the setting autumn sun over the Pacific Ocean. Many people loved Dorothy; her family, friends, and neighbors who would become dear friends. She loved many things as well, from her pets, both past and present, her garden, and her many travels, both short and distant, with her husband Michael. She was preceded in death by her parents; and older brother, Bill Poore. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Michael Motta; and her son, Christopher Motta of Fresno; and her brother, Ray Poore of Valley Springs, CA. Visitation will be held at Jay Chapel Madera, CA on Sunday, February 1, 2015, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Jay Chapel, Madera, CA on Monday, February 2, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. A Private Family Interment will be held at Cambria Cemetery in Cambria, CA . Bob was born on November 1, 1938, in Taft, CA, and passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, with his family at his side. Bob was a 1957 graduate of George Washington High School in Los Angeles, CA. He served in the United States Army, then worked at ABEX and retired from Gallo Winery. Bob loved his family, camping, hunting, fishing, RVing with CCB RV & Boat Club, building model planes and boats, and operating them with his buddies from Fresno Radio Control Modelers. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Sharri, his wife of 50 years; his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Sarina Hankins; his daughter and son-in-law, Kylee and Bert Lane; his beloved grandsons, Christian, Preston, and Adam; his sisters, Terry Lee, Shelley Stone, and Dee Humphrey; his brother-in-law, Loye Stone; three nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Clovis Veteran's Memorial Building in Clovis, on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, his family requests remembrances be made in his name to St. Judes; or the American Cancer Society.
