Emilio passed away in Fresno on July 10, 2014, at the age of 97. He was born in Durango, Mexico on October 16, 1916. Emilio and his late wife Minnie owned and operated Las Palmas Grocery Store for many years as well as his farm. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years Minnie; his parents; and his sister, Nattie R. Quinonez. He is survived by his twin daughters, Linda Contreras and her husband Juan of Sacramento, and Rosemary Hanson of Fresno; and his sister ,Tomasa V. Arenas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Raquel Duarte, and Mike Duarte; and great-grandchildren, Michael Ashcraft, Jordan Ashcraft, Brittney Ashcraft, Cyrus Stanley, Ciara Stanley, Malina Duarte and Drake Duarte. Emilio has also been blessed with seven great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Family of Emilio would like to thank the Pro Hospice Agency Staff, especially Gina Fuentes and Lisa De Guzman, for the wonderful care that they provided for Emilio over the last several months. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Stephens and Bean Chapel on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peters Cemetery.
