BLANCHE CAIN

Blanche was born on October 27, 1939 in Fresno to Robert Starr and Rosalind Larsen. She passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, May 13, 2011. She began her life in Rolinda just outside of Fresno. Her father was a co-founder of Larsen-Ratto Construction Company. Blanche grew up in the "Old Fig" area of Fresno where she attended Bullard Elementary School and graduated from Fresno High School in 1957. She attended UC Santa Barbara and went on to graduate from Fresno State. In 1961 she married Dick L. Cain and had two children, Cal and Beth. After raising her children, Blanche worked in the health maintenance industry upon her retirement. She prided herself on the work ethic her father instilled in her. Blanche was blessed to have been married to her husband Dick for 49 years, who took great care of her until her passing. She was fiercely devoted to her family and her love for them was unconditional. Blanche was blessed to have many friends that she cared deeply about and they gave her great joy throughout her lifetime. Blanche is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Rosalind Larsen; her beloved brother Bobby and his wife Loree. She is survived by her husband Dick; son Cal and his wife Melissa and their children, McKenzie and Kennedy; daughter Beth Janeway and her son Jeremy; niece Kristin and her husband John Ormond and their children, Eric and Evan; niece Catherine and her husband, Alex Riddering and their children, Kyle and Sophia. A Memorial Service will be held at Chapel of the Light, on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Agnes Hospice 6729 N.
