Glenn Jessing passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in Madera, Ca. at the age of 88. Glenn was born on August 27, 1924, in Madera, Ca. where he was a lifelong resident. After graduating from Madera Union High School, class of 1942. He served with the United States 8th Army Air Forces in Europe. Glenn was honorably discharged in October, 1945. He then went to work for the County of Madera in the Welfare Department as an account clerk, advancing to chief account clerk and for 10 months, he served as acting Welfare Director. In 1956, Glenn transferred to the County Auditor-Controller's Office as a deputy auditor controller. In 1958, he was elected to the office of County Auditor-Controller and served in that position for 28 years. Glenn also served as President of the State Association of County Auditors from 1969 to 1970, retiring in November of 1986. After retirement, Glenn was active in the Madera Elks Lodge, serving on the Board of Trustees for several years, and then as Secretary for 13 years. He was also a member of the Madera V.F.W. Post 1981. Glenn is preceded in death by his wife Anne Jessing, in 2005; and his two brothers, Allen and Duaine Jessing. He is survived by his two children, Howard Jessing of Fresno, and Linda Haldeman and her husband Don of Arnold, Ca.; his sister, Verna Mae Roberts and her husband Dwight of Reedley; his brother, Stanley Jessing and his wife Karen of Madera. Glenn also leaves behind two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at Jay Chapel, on Monday, December 3, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Remembrances may be made to the Elks Handicapped Children, P.O.
