Mrs. Niizawa was born on July 17, 1925, and passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2013, from Alzheimer's Disease. Following the outbreak of World War II, her family was interned in Gila River, Az. At the ending of the war, Yo and Fay moved to Chicago. Later, they rejoined their family in Sanger, Ca. where Yo went to work for Leonard Brothers Packing. There she met and married her husband, Johnny. Later she went to work at Twining Laboratory, then worked for the Sanger Unified School District, where she retired in September of 1990. Yo enjoyed family functions, watching her children's sports activities, playing cards with her friends and gambling trips. She and Johnny travelded to Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New York, Wyoming, Washington, D.C., Japan and Canada. A special thanks to Dr. Dennis Nakata, M.D. for his special attention and treatment given to her and to the staff at Vintage Gardens and Pro Hospice Agency. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hatsutaro and Hisayo Kotsubo; husband, Johnny Niizawa; and daughter, Janet Niizawa. She is survived by her son Stanley; sisters, Kimi Hirata, Faye Nishioki, Chiyoko Sakamoto and Kay Ihara. Visitation will be held at Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home on Sunday, December 15, 2013, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Chapel Service will be held at Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home on Monday, December 16, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Sanger Cemetery.
