Derek Kent Sambueso, born on April 17, 1969, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 25, 2014, at his home in Madera, CA at the age of 45. His parents, Dim and Julie Sambueso raised Derek in Madera. Derek attended Madera High School and graduated in 1987. He was a member of FFA and received numerous awards. Derek worked along side his father and uncle at Gus' Food Locker for 26 years. He was a member of Madera Elks Lodge and St. Joachim's Catholic Church. Derek was a member of Young Men's Institute and was awarded "Man of the Year." He enjoyed working his cattle and spending time with his friends at Producers Livestock. His dog Reeses was always at his side and his favorite companion. Derek is survived by his parents, Dim and Julie Sambueso, of Madera; his sister, Allison Cole and her husband Ted, of Fresno; nieces, Hannah and Avery Cole; his uncle, Don Sambueso and his wife Sharon, of Madera; his uncle, Don Young of Turlock; as well as numerous family members. The family is grateful to, Tim Sisil, and Ellen Gomes, for their support and guidance over the years. A Private Burial Service will take place on Friday, August 1, 2014. A Memorial Luncheon will be held at at Madera Elks Lodge, 112 West 6th Street, Madera, CA 93637, at 12:00 noon. Remembrances may be made to Friends of Madera Animal Shelter, P.O.
