Our mother was born on the Isl. of Elba, Italy, in 1919. She was the only child of Josefina and Fillipe Gelsi. In 1922, the family immigrated to the United States, settling in Daily City, Ca. For eight years, Fillipe worked as grounds keeper for the Olympic Club, while Josefina worked at the Levi Strauss Factory in San Francisco. In 1930, they moved to their farm on Clinton and Brawley, in Fresno, Ca. Rosalie graduated from Central High School and Fresno State College. "She's the one for me!", are the words her future husband uttered the first time he saw Rosalie. Kermit "Joe" Fish and Rosalie were married for over 60 years. Besides a happy marriage and three children, Phil, Andrea and Joe Jr., Mom had a long career as a third grade teacher. They were loving parents, grandparents to eight, and great-grandparents to 16. Mom will be dearly missed by all.
