Thomas "Bo" Cavasas, a longtime resident of Pearland, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013. Thomas was born on April 6, 1918 in Galveston, TX where he graduated from Kirwin High School in 1935 and met his wife, Eva Audrey Ingersoll, who attended Sacred Heart. They were married in 1939. Thomas served in the US Navy in World War II from 1942 to 1946 and returned to the Texas coast to begin a long career in pipe and valve distribution he enjoyed well into his 70's. A survivor of the Texas City explosion, Thomas moved his family to Houston where he resided for 16 years until he settling in Pearland in 1968. Thomas is preceded by his great granddaughter Audrey Ann Hoff and is survived by his wife of 76 years, Eva Cavasas; son, Gary Cavasas; daughter, Stacey Womack Jury; grandchild, Wende Womack Bendik & husband, Milan Bendik; and great grandson, Carson Hoff. Known to family as Bo, he will remembered for his honesty, charity and positivity. Always supporting his children, Bo spent lifetimes at sports practice and was the only Dad at many a dance rehearsal in the 60's. Local children knew him for his Halloween costumes and his many dance partners at the local nursing homes will miss Bo.
Most importantly, he was a wonderful husband who provided his bride a life of love and fun. We will all miss Bo, carrying Eva's purse through Baybrook Mall because it was "too heavy for her".
Condolences may be sent to the Cavasas family in care of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home.
