Dan H. Moore went to his forever home with the Lord on June 10, 2012. Born Dan Haney Moore in Texarkana, Arkansas, on December 20, 1933, he graduated from Port Neches High School in 1952; then attended Jacksonville College in Jacksonville, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Syble Barnett. They married on May 21, 1953. Dan graduated from Stephen F. Austin State College in Nacogdoches, Texas, with Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees. Dan is preceded in death by Syble, his wife of (almost) 59 years; his parents, Grady and Rita Mae Moore; and his two brothers, Winston C. Moore and David E. Moore. He is survived by his four children - Rita Joyce Moore McClure and her husband Raymond McClure; Patricia Lois Moore Gafford and her husband David Gafford; Danny Ray Moore and his wife Nancy Moore; and Troy Eugene Moore; three grandchildren - Jason Christopher Moore and his wife Kristy, Thomas Edward Gafford and his wife Jennifer, and Natalie Diane Gafford; two step-grandchildren, Travis Kenneth Stang and Crystal Jeanette Stang; and four great-grandchildren Logan, Aden, Grayson and Easton Moore.

Dan resided in Pearland, Texas, and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Friendswood. He was a State Farm Insurance Agent for 30 years in southeast Houston until he and Syble, who was his Office Manager, retired 11 years ago. He was active in Kiwanis International in the Southeast Houston Club and the Pasadena Club serving in various committee and officer roles including Lieutenant Governor of Division 3-Texas Oklahoma District.

Dan was a self-appointed ambassador for the State of Texas. Having been born in Arkansas, he often said, "I got to Texas as soon as I could." He loved his family greatly and encouraged, praised and supported them in many ways. He never met a stranger and always had a quick wit and funny story or joke to tell. He walked this earth in humble wisdom and was steadfast in his faith and love for Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
