Arlene Mae Norfleet, 88, of Denver, died surrounded by her family Aug. 9 in her residence at Serenity House Assisted Living.
She was born May 2, 1929, in Gilcrest, to George E. and Eva K. Wiggett. She married Norman Glen Norfleet April 3, 1948, in Socorro, N.M., and they were married for more than 60 years. Arlene lived in Weld County up until the past five years.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Paden (husband Kevin O'Brien), of Denver, and Sharon Norfleet (husband Gary Baxley), of Louisville; her son, Steven Norfleet, of Lakewood; a sister, Marian Neergaard of Bellvue; brother, Jerry Wiggett of Loveland; step-grandchildren, Patrick O'Brien and Colleen O'Brien, of Denver; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Her parents; her husband; her sisters, Imogene Wiggett, and Helen Willadsen; and brothers, George Wiggett, and Harold Wiggett preceded her in death.
Arlene worked for Fort Lupton school lunch services from the late 1960s until the early 1980s. She also worked for the House of Smoke in Fort Lupton in the mid-1980s until retiring in 1996. She enjoyed being outside, taking care of her yard, taking walks and being with her family.
Arlene was one of the founding members of Hillside Baptist Church in Greeley.
The memorial service starts at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 25, at Crossroads Church, 1115 First St., Fort Lupton.
