Coy Wayman Livingston was born March 23,1940, in Carbon, Texas, to Charlie Allen and Christena Ruth Livingston. He grew up in Cisco Texas, graduated from Cisco High School in 1958 and attended Cisco Junior College.
In 1959, Coy relocated to Brighton, where he met Sharon Kay Knuffke. After marrying in 1960, the couple returned to Texas where their daughter, Cheryl Ann, the first of their three children, was born. They moved back to Brighton in 1962, where siblings Kenneth Dean and Phillip Wayman were born.
Both Coy's hobby and his career were cars. He and Sharon launched J and S Auto Body in Brighton in 1994. The successful business continues today under the management of Phillip Livingston.
Coy died at his home Sept. 23 after suffering a heart attack. His parents and a son, Kenneth, preceded him in death. Survivors include his widow; two children; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Stan.
A memorial service was Sept. 28 in Brighton.
