Mary E. Cook "Beth", 99, died July 29 at her home in Mobile, Alabama. She was born Jan. 15, 1918, in Clovis, N.M., to James H. and Alma M. (Wilson) Massey. She married James L. Cook Feb. 20, 1937, in Denver. Mary lived in the Denver area most of her life but moved to Alabama approximately 30 years ago.
Mary loved to travel by RV camper throughout the United States and, as family came first, she would always include her grandchildren in her travels.
Mary loved to crochet and was always a very positive soul, pushing the philosophy, "if you don't do it right, don't do it at all." She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary (Harvey) Houston, of Brighton, and Judy (Garry) Chamberlain of Semmes, Alabama; a son, James (Gail) Cook, of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; a sister, Iva Unger of Englewood; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Her husband, in 2005; a sister, Lyda; and a grandson, Kirk Houston, preceded her in death.
Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
