Mrs. Dorothy L. Suber

Mrs. Dorothy L. Suber, 82 of Providence Community, Quincy died August 7, 2013, after a short illness.

"Miss Dot", a native of Quincy, was a 1948 graduate of Gadsden High School in Quincy and maintained many friendships with her classmates. She retired from the Florida Highway Patrol in 1997 after 27 years and was currently employed by H&R Block, Quincy for 16 years. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church, Gator Boosters, and an avid bridge player with the Monday Afternoon Bridge Club. She enjoyed traveling taking art lessons, and playing scrabble.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred S. "Sonny" Suber, her parents, Williams W. Lowrey and Clara Lowery Richards of Quincy, brother William W. Lowery, Jr. and her sister, June M. Carter of Hockley, Texas.

She is survived by her sister, Sue Lowery Williams of Abiquiu, New Mexico; her sister-in-law Nell Suber Wynn of Panama City, Florida. Her four children, Jeannie Demma (Tony) of Tallahassee, Jeff Suber (Angela) of Hardaway, Priscilla Suber of Providence Community and Mitch Suber (Jan) of Wigham, Georgia. Seven grandchildren, Chris York (Kim) of Tallahassee, Leanne Sanchez (Javier) of Plantation, Florida, Will Suber of Wigham, Stephanie Dicken of Ocala, Cole Suber (Meghan) of Tallahassee, Lee Suber of Tallahassee, and Hunter Suber of Hardaway. Seven great-grandchildren, Brenden Stewart and Tori Dicken of Ocala, Evan and Lilly Grace York of Tallahassee, Peyton and Harper Suber of Tallahassee, and Sloane Sanchez of Plantation; close friends, Sharon and Mike Haire of Tallahassee and Lucia Esquivel of Greensboro and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday morning, August 10, 2013, at Providence Baptist Church, 1612 Providence Road, Quincy, Florida, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am.
