Orien W. Stringer, 87, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 28, 2012. He was born on November 11, 1924 in the Sycamore Community of Gadsden County, Florida. He was in the Army during WWII. He worked for Western Electric installing equipment in telephone offices. He retired from AT&T after 19 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Callen and Minnie Stringer, two brothers, Bernard and Rudolph, one sister, Robinette, his daughter, Wanda, one granddaughter, a daughter-in-law and a step-son.
He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Jeanette, his son Scotty, his sister Virgie Dolan, two nieces, Sylvia Parramore and Jean Burmester, four nephews, Ronald Edwards, Wayne and Randall Marriot and Ricky Hicks. He is also survived by four step-children, five grandchildren, one great granddaughter, six step- grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren
He enjoyed spending time with family, reading his Bible and ministering to shut ins.He has claimed Romans 8:28, his favorite Bible Verse. "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose." KJV
Visitation was Monday, October 1, 2012 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Byram, MS. He was buried in his hometown of Byram, Ms. on October 2, 2012.
