God's Precious Rose

Ms. Tangela Renee Henderson was born on August 31, 1971 to Harold James Henderson and Joanne Henderson of Havana, Florida. She was one of three siblings, including her older brother Derek and her twin sister Angela, who she was forever joined at the hip. Tangela enjoyed a happy and blessed childhood full of love and laughter. The love of the Lord was placed in Tangela's heart and she committed her life to Christ at a very young age. She was an active member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church for many years, playing the piano and singing in the choir with absolute joy! Tangela would remain a faithful and dedicated member of Christ's body over her life, including church membership at Antioch Baptist Church while residing in Atlanta, Georgia for many years.
Tangela attended the public school system in Gadsden County and would excel with her academics all throughout her school years. She would receive her high school diploma with honors from Havana Northside High School in 1989. Tangela would further her studies at Florida A&M University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree with honors in Political Science. She would later be accepted into several law school programs, but Tangela realized her true calling from God was to help others in a different capacity. She would earn her Master's Degree from Clark Atlanta University in Counseling Psychology and would later embark on an exciting career in private practice, working to help others in need including those with developmental and mental health challenges. Tangela was very dedicated to her profession and was loved by all of her clients and colleagues. She would work in this capacity up until her passing.
Tangela lived a full and happy life. She did it her way with fearlessness and wonderment. Tangela believed that one must live each day as if it was your last. She did not waste a day, but found ways to enjoy the small moments and cherish those she cared most about. For those who were close to her, they enjoyed endless laughter and a caring and generous spirit. Tangela was a special human being who will be surely missed by all with whom she crossed paths.
Tangela's passing was sudden, but peaceful. She transitioned from this life on April 11, 2018. To cherish her beautiful memory, Tangela leaves her Mother, Joanne Henderson; Brother, Derrick Thomas(Tiffany) of St. Augustine, Florida; Twin Sister, Angela Henderson of Tallahassee, FL; God-brother, Kenneth Colston Jr.; and her special friend Jayceon Harris of Atlanta, Georgia. Also surviving Tangela's departure are her loving host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.
Memorial services for Tangela will be held at the Old West Florida Enrichment Center in Tallahassee, Florida on April 20, 2018 at 11:00am.
