Walter (Cracker/ Bo) King, Jr., 89, of Chattahoochee, FL, passed away Sun., July 8, 2018. Funeral Service was Sat., July 14, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Chattahoochee, FL.

Walter (Cracker/ Bo) King, Jr. was born on March 2, 1929 in Pelham, Georgia, one of six children born to Walter King Sr., and Harriet Ross King. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

On February 15, 1956, he married Erris (Scrap) McMillian and to this union two daughters were born. His beloved wife of fifty-five years preceded him in death on October 24, 2011.

His primary job was a cook at Florida State Hospital (FSH) for over four decades. His second job was fishing. Upon retiring from FSH, fishing became his primary job. His truck with fishing poles and a boot on the back was a familiar site to many residents of Chattahoochee. In September 2011, he made the front page of the Twin City News in an article entitled: The One that Almost Got Away! The article noted he has been fishing at Jim Woodruff Dam since its completion in 1957.

Although his formal education was limited, countless individuals have recalled how they benefited from his common sense, sage wisdom, and animated stories of life lessons that he shared with them. Walter was quick witted, very out spoken, kind, generous, and always willing to help others. He began to study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses and truly loved what he was learning. So much so, he began sharing with others the things he was learning. Before his death, he was taking steps to become one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Walter King Jr. is survived by daughters Luvert King of Chattahoochee, Florida and Elease Jackson (Fletcher) of Titusville Florida; four grandchildren: Marcia Smith of Tallahassee, Florida, Jameiah Jackson of Orlando, Florida, Devenah Jackson of Titusville, Florida, and Kaylah Jackson of Orlando, Florida; sisters: Johnnie Mae Daniels of Sneads, Florida and Delorise King of Chattahoochee, Florida; and a host of beloved and cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
