Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel for George Keith Condray, 85, of Hokes Bluff, who passed away on August 26, 2013. The Rev. Steve Shaneyfelt and the Rev. Russell Shaneyfelt will officiate. Burial will follow at Trinity Holiness Church Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge of services.
George loved people. But more so he was a born-again Christian and, although he died, he now really lives with Jesus. His motto was "Jesus never fails," and he never failed to tell others about Jesus. He graduated from Hokes Bluff High School in 1948. He was a Korean War
veteran. He retired from Southern Life and Health in 1988 with 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Israel William and Hassie Condray.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alva Dean Condray; sons, Brad (Connie) Condray and Bart Condray; stepgrandchildren, Jonathon Martin and Jamie Martin; sisters-in-law, Martha Nell Whitlock, Betty Wicker and Sarah Shaw; chosen brother of more than 75 years, Gurtis (Mary Ann) Sewell; special friends, Peggy and Allen Swindall.
Pallbearers will be Mike Garrard, Ty Garrard, Derick Puckett, Jonathon Martin, Jerry Eubanks, Don Garmon, Barry Davidson, W.C. McCullars.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gurtis Sewell, Allen Swindall, Ronnie League, Bobby Puckett and Tommy Condray.
Special thanks to the caring employees of Gadsden Regional Home Health & Hospice, who took excellent care of George during his extended illness, Krystle, Sara, Trena, Lee, Casey, Jessica, Cindy, Chaplain Mike.
