James Adams

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Black Creek Baptist Church for Mr. James Adams, 76, Collinsville, who passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 2009. The Revs. John Powell and Jay Adams will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
James was a native of Collinsville. He was a retired maintenance worker from Los Angeles School District. He was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed doing carpentry work. He loved spending time with his family, attending church, loved his animals and going to Shoney's for breakfast. There are so many memories that will be held in the hearts of his family and friends. Although we miss you already, we know you are happily walking the streets of gold.
He is survived by his sons, James Adams Jr., Richard Adams, Randall (Nelda) Adams, Stanley (Darlene) Adams and Jeffery (Terry) Adams; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother, P.M. (Jane) Adams; and sisters, Genevieve Sanders, Ruth Bone and Jo (Herbert) Cochran.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Tiffany, Angie and Jessica.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Adams, Jonathon Adams, Ricky Adams, Gerald Foster, Calvin Sanders and Ronnie Bone.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Akisanya and Jamie with Southern Care Hospice, Euell Adams, Shane McClellan and Shane McLeod.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
