Mark Alan "Pepe" Barclay passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013, at home.
Mark was born Jan. 30, 1950, in Gadsden, Ala., to the late Jack and Wilma Barclay. After graduating from Gadsden High in 1968, he attended Auburn University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. After graduating from Auburn, he received his MBA at Jacksonville State University. He was a founding member and former president of the Gadsden Sportsman Club, as well as a past Rotary member. Mark was the president and owner of Barclay Contracting.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Susan; daughters, Paige Barclay, Brook Peppers (Dennis) and Sydney Miller (Phillip); son, Chase Barclay; grandchildren, Peyton Stewart, Walker Buckner, Makenzie Peppers, Taylor Peppers and Sophia Miller. Other survivors include sisters, Joan Lee (Mickey) and Dohna Hocevar; brother, Jackie Barclay (Dee); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Rainbow City, with services to follow at 4 p.m. and interment at Williams Southside Cemetery.
