Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crestwood Funeral Home for Rosalyn Posey Bishop, 84, Gadsden, who died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012. Bobby Welch and Jack Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Rosalyn was a lifetime resident of Gadsden and was a Goodyear retiree. She was a founding member of East Gadsden Church of The Nazarene. She was fond of cats and flowers. At the early death of her daughter-in-law, she unexpectedly became mother of her four grandchildren and felt blessed each and every day she had them. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by parents Samuel and Elizabeth Posey; husband, John Allen Bishop Sr.; son, John Allen Bishop Jr.; daughter-in-law, Debra Bishop; brother, Samuel Posey Jr.; sister, Christine Newsome; and brother-in-Law, Wilbur Bill Newsome.
She is survived by her four grandchildren she raised, Christina (Aaron) Whitten, April (Ben) Taylor, Samuel Bishop, Ian Bishop, Amy Bishop; chosen grandson, Wade Abbott; great-grandchildren, Trey, Branson, Alise, Jacob and Noah; nieces, Rebecca Ann Aguirre and Patricia (James) Homerick; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Bishop.
