Ted Williams, 66, of Rachel Ave., Boaz, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Shepherd's Cove.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at First Baptist Church, Boaz, with the Revs. Richard Pettijohn, Duane Ware and Melton Smith officiating. Interment service to follow in Tates Chapel Cemetery at 3 p.m. McRae Funeral Home of Boaz is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams was born Oct. 2, 1946, in Alabama to Ernest and Nell Matthews Williams. He was a retired pharmacist.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Betty Kidd Williams of Boaz; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and LaShea Williams of Boaz; daughters and sons-in-law, Laurel and Nathan Burns of Boaz and Rachel and Brian Quarles of Arab; brother, Benny Williams of Florida; grandchildren, Wesley Burns, Sarah-Anne Burns, McKenna Williams, Sadie Burns, Ross Quarles, William Quarles and Elly Quarles; and five chosen grandchildren. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his grandson, Peyton Williams; and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Rick Neal, Frank Duckett, Ricky Smith, Donald Hull, Harold Mize, Bubba Riddle, John Thomson and Cort Harwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Faucett, Dale Johnson, Freck Williams, Mike Smith, Terry George, Dr. Evan Johnson, Jerry Rogers, Tommy Roe, Mike Matthews and the 1965 graduating class of Emma Sansom High School.
