John Gilbert Obituary
Mr. Gilbert was born in Anniston and was raised in Montevallo, where he met a special lifelong friend, Taylor Davis. His Army career included serving in the Philippines in the 5th Cavalry Regiment, within the 1st Cavalry Division.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Rudolph and Irene Baker Gilbert; and one sister, Dorothy Jean Neverick.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Page Gilbert; son, John Page and his wife, Heather; daughters, Pamela Gilbert and Patrice Hall; grandchildren, Garrett Hall, Grant, Abby and Trent Gilbert, and Lyndsay Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Headache Foundation or the American Heart Association.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
