Funeral services for Mr. Frank Aderholdt, Jr., of Gadsden, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Collier-Butler Chapel. Pastors Mat Alexander and Thomas Hodge will officiate with burial to follow at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
He served during WWII in China, Burma and India with the 14th Air Force under General Chennault's Flying Tigers receiving six metals, three bronze stars and one oak leaf.
Mr. Aderholdt was retired from advertising and printing with The Gadsden Times and Frost & Frost Printing Company.
He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Gadsden where he served as a Deacon almost fifty years.
Mr. Aderholdt was preceded in death by his wife, LaNelle Kilgore Aderholdt.
He is survived by his daughters, Itaska (Thomas) Hodge, Anona A. Aderholdt and Aponi (Kyle) Johnson, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and special friend Frances McCord.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Kyle Johnson and nephews Jack, Don and Jon Graves.
Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons and his Sunday School Class of First Baptist Gadsden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Gadsden, 235 S. 5th Street, Gadsden, Alabama 35901.
