Funeral services for Mr. Frank Aderholdt Jr., of Gadsden, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Collier-Butler Chapel. Pastors Mat Alexander and Thomas Hodge will officiate with burial to follow at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
He served during World War II in China, Burma and India with the 14th Air Force under General Chennault's Flying Tigers, receiving six metals, three bronze stars and one oak leaf.
Mr. Aderholdt was retired from advertising and printing with The Gadsden Times and Frost & Frost Printing Company.
He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Gadsden, where he served as a Deacon almost 50 years.
He is survived by his daughters, Itaska (Thomas) Hodge, Anona A. Aderholdt and Aponi (Kyle) Johnson; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and special friend Frances McCord.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Kyle Johnson and nephews, Jack, Don and Jon Graves.
Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons and his Sunday School class of First Baptist Gadsden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Gadsden, 235 S. Fifth St., Gadsden, AL 35901.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
