Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Village Chapel for Harold Wayne Glassco, 71, Altoona, who died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013. The Rev. Terry Tibbs will officiate. Burial will take place at Pleasant Valley Cemetery No. 2. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Glassco served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Anniston Army Depot with more than 20 years' service. Mr. Glassco was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Emma Grace Glassco; brother, James Glassco; and brother-in-law; Joe Hammonds.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Betty Ruth Dillard Glassco; son, Shane Glassco; grandson, Jonathan Glassco; brothers, Henry Leon Glassco, Tennessee, Billy Glassco, Albertville, and Sammy Glassco, Nashville; sisters, Martha Hammonds, Nashville, and Joyce Biacona, Largo, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Allegra Glassco, Southside.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Glassco, Lucas Newsome, Chris Anderson, Phillip Dillard, Mikey Vinyard and Rodney Cromer.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
