Mr. Kenneth Randall McGlaughn, 59, of Wetumpka, formerly of Rainbow City, passed away on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, after an extended illness. Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Othell Wallace will officiate the service. Burial to follow in Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory is directing.
Mr. McGlaughn was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force National Guard and one of the Gadsden HAMM radio operators. He was also involved with and employed by Business Enterprise for the Blind for over 32 years and an avid Alabama fan, cheering on the Crimson Tide with a "Roll Tide" at every opportunity. Mr. McGlaughn was preceded in death by his father, Lester McGlaughn; and brother, Eugene McGlaughn.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Sarah McGlaughn, Wetumpka; mother, Maril McGlaughn, Rainbow City; daughter, Kimberly Myrick, Wetumpka; son, Kenneth J. McGlaughn (Lecia), Wetumpka; sister, Lois Steapleton (Jack), Steele; brother, Charles McGlaughn (Carolyn), Rainbow City; grandchildren, Courtney McGlaughn and Logan Myrick; chosen grandchild, Lynsey Esmont.
Pallbearers include Jack Steapleton, Ronald Stephens, Phillip Stephens, Mike Stephens, Jeff Stephens and Scott Bellamy.
D.J. Eldridge will serve as honorary pallbearer.
The family will accept friends for visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. today.
