Madge "Midge" Anita Osborne Vice, 71, Auburndale, Fla., passed away at home Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, after a courageous battle of breast cancer with her family by her side.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ken Hendrix officiating. Burial is at Crestwood Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory is directing.
Mrs. Vice was the youngest of three children. She was born July 22, 1942, in Erie, Pa., to Marion (Morris) and Kenneth G. Osborne. She graduated from Academy High School in 1960. She then graduated from Penn State in 1964 with her B.S. Degree in Home Economics/Family Studies/Home Art. Midge and her husband, Lamar, had been self-employed most of their 48 years of marriage. Midge was involved in the women's prison ministry, reaching out to hurting women. She also authored two books, "Let the Older Women Teach" and "Why Me, Why Now?"
Midge was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dadra Marra Vice; and brother, Kenneth Grant Osborne.
Survivors include her husband, Lamar Vice; three married sons, Grant (Kimberly) Vice, Lakeland, Fla., Matthew (Trudy) Vice, Lake Alfred, Fla., and Spencer (Dionna) Vice, Auburndale, Fla.; eight wonderful grandchildren; and brother, Richard "Dick" (Cindy) Osborne.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
