Palmyre (Polly) Stringer, former resident of Gadsden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, in Perry, Ga.

Widow of Hubert Ansley Stringer, mother of David Hubert Stringer of San Francisco, Calif., and Richard Ansley Stringer (deceased), Mrs. Stringer was a native of New Orleans, La., where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University in 1937. A former elementary school teacher and docent at the New Orleans Museum of Art, Mrs. Stringer spent the years after Hurricane Katrina at Summerhill Senior Living Community in Perry, Ga.
She is survived by her son and his partner; daughter-in-law; grandson and his wife; great-grandchildren; and loving nieces and nephew. Interment will be in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Gadsden, on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at 1:30 p.m.
