Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at White Springs Baptist Church for Mr. Ronald E. Brown, 81, Birmingham, formerly of Rainbow City, who passed away Friday, March 8, 2013. The Rev. Tommy Crocker will officiate, with burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.

Mr. Brown was a native of Cherokee County and a longtime resident of Etowah County, having resided in Jefferson County for the past five months. He was a member of White Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Brown retired from Republic Steel with approximately 35 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Dot Brown; children, Charlotte Foreman and husband, Luther, Birmingham, and Greg Brown and wife, Angela, Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Matt and Jake Brown, Andrew and Alex Foreman, Bobby McCartney and Jeremy Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Fairchild and Gary Couch.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to White Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service Monday at White Springs Baptist Church.
