Beverly - I was deeply saddened to hear about Tom -- he fought a long, hard battle. His big smile and wonderful personality will be missed. I was out of town and did not get to visit with you and the family, but you were in my thoughts and prayers. May God be with you now and down the road, as we all know he will. Hope to see you soon.
Love, Betty Davis

Tom, Tac, Sabra and I had fun at our annual meeting to pick peaches in Chilton County. At our last picking, Tom was sick and did not pick very many peaches, but he took the time to drive and meet us, just spend a couple of hours with friends.
Tom will forever be remembered in my heart for being a gentlemen, for his generosity and for his kindness.
Tom was a Christian, who loved the Lord and loved his family, my prayers are with you all. He suffered here on Earth, he will be in a better place.
My prayer is for his family, that God will give them His grace.
Bye, bye, my friend!

Beverly, Anna, Connie, Kaki & Jeanne,

As you know, he was truly a special person. I know that he was a wonderful, engaging husband and friend to his lovely wife, Beverly, and her true soul-mate. As we grow older and bit wiser, hopefully we understand the unconditional love that our parents have for us. I'm sure that Anna, Connie, Kaki and Jeanne will agree with me and will cherish the life lessons that their "good buddy" Tom shared with each of them. Tom loved his family, his work and life in general. I am positive that our Heavenly Father welcomed Tom to heaven with a loving and gracious hug and said "Well done Good Buddy, your were a faithful servant to your family, your friends, your church, your business and most of all to Me." As you know, I loved Tom very much and always enjoyed my brief visits with him and your family. I am truly sorry that I cannot be there to celebrate his life with the Batey family today and tomorrow. God bless you all.

Mr. Batey was a great man. He taught me so much. He was an asset to his community and a loving father and husband. He was a wonder to work with and watch him work. Like I said, the man taught me a lot. My thoughts and prayers are with his family as they go through this trying time.

Deepest sympathy to the Batey family. Our thoughts and prayers have been with you during this difficult time. An old Irish blessing says:
May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall—
You do not walk alone.

May God bless, comfort, and keep you in the palm of his hand.

Tom Batey was a St. Joseph in our time: a protector, a gentle-man hidden under that wonderful sense of humor. What a blessing to have known him. Beverly and family, you are in our prayers.
