Altus Harper, 90, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 13, 2012, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Crossville Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Bro. Zach Richards will officiate. A private family burial will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lonzo Harper; and a brother, James H. Chandler, and his wife, Beatrice Chandler.
She is survived by a nephew, Charles and Linda Chandler; their daughter, Tammy Chandler; a niece, Judy Chandler Jeramias, Willington, N.C., her husband, Steve, and sons, Justin (Grace) and Jordan Jeramias.
She was blessed with many relatives from the Harper and Hyde families.
She leaves to cherish her memory so many students, teachers and friends from her many years of teaching at Crossville Elementary and high schools.
She loved her church work and all the friends she made at Union Grove Baptist Church. Thanks to all her church family who helped her in her latter years with visitations, meals, mowing yards, home repairs and running errands. Her only request after entering the nursing home was to be able to go to church on Sundays.
She was known and loved by everyone and will always be remembered for her faith, strength and kindness to others.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be T.K. Davis, John Hyde, Keith Davis, Scott Roberson, Harold Burns and Jerry Darnell. Honorary pallbearers will be all personal friends.
