Charles Edward Griffith, 73, of Hokes Bluff, died Tuesday. Dec. 4, 2012.
He served his country in the Air Force as a dentist from 1966-68. He returned to Gadsden to practice dentistry until the early '80s, when he moved to Georgia and eventually retired from United and American General Insurance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doster and Emma Ree Griffith.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Griffith; stepdaughters, Tammy Crandall and Pam Tillery; daughters, Cindy (Mark) Norman, Annette Griffith and Beth Griffith; grandchildren, Corey (Marie) Norman, Monica (Keith) Mitchell, Brett (Anna) Norman, Nathan Anderson and Kyle Anderson; and stepgrandchildren, Heather Tillery, Jessica Tillery and Lindsay Crandall (Bill) Deyette; siblings, Doc (Bobbie) Griffith and Brenda Boozer; and great-grandchildren, Alexandra Mitchell and Javin Norman; stepgreat-grandchild, William Deyette.
His funeral will be held at Macon Memorial in Macon, Ga., at 4 p.m. today.
