Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today at Cleveland Methodist Church Cemetery for Eloise Pass Adams, 93, of Gadsden, who died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013. The Rev. Wes Hallman will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, L.C. Adams; son, Dan Adams; parents, Marshall Edward and Mayme Parker Pass; sister; Olive Pass; and brother, Charles Pass.
She is survived by her son, Alan (Delle) Adams; daughter, Ann (Gary) Guffey; grandchildren, Jeff (Krista) Adams, Craig Adams, Scott (April) Adams, Chad Adams, Sandi Adams and Lori Guffey Walker; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Adams was born and raised in Cleveland, Ala. She graduated from Cleveland High School and was the Valedictorian of her class. She then attended Birmingham Southern College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. While there, she was a member of the girl's Glee Club, the Geography Club, the cheerleader squad, Tri Tau, and the Mu Alpha Music Sorority. She taught school at Eura Brown Elementary School and was made a honorary life member of the PTA by Eura Brown PTA. She was an active member of the Gadsden First United Methodist Church and she received a certificate of appreciation from the church for 30 years active service as a teacher and pianist in Sunday School. She was also an active member of the United Methodist Women and an avid crafter.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she will be missed by all who loved her.
The family will accept flowers, or donations may be made to Cleveland Methodist Cemetery Fund, c/o Peggy White, P.O. Box 194, Cleveland, AL 35049.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Adams, Craig Adams, Scott Adams, Chad Adams, Blake Adams and Blaine Adams.
Honorary pallbearer is Mark Pass.
There will no visitation.
