Funeral services will be today at noon at Crestwood Chapel for Fannie Adcock, 84, Gadsden, who passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2008. The Rev. Sammy Stabler will officiate. Burial will be in Forrest Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Fannie Adcock was born on June 2, 1923, in Ashville, and was a lifelong resident of Gadsden. She was a longtime member of Bellevue United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, was active in the PTA and Girl Scouts, was the first female board member of Gulfsteel YMCA, a volunteer at Riverview Hospital for 20 years and a world traveler.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim Machen and Mae St. John; husband, Robert Adcock; and son-in-law, Bill Relford.

She is survived by her sons, Spence (Karen) Adcock and Steve (Rhonda) Adcock; daughter, Gail Relford; sister, Lucy (Bill) Hendon; grandchildren, Rob (Erica) Adcock, Brian (Cara) Adcock, Jordan Adcock, Trent Adcock, Taylor Relford and Sallie Relford; and great-grandchildren, Brianna Adcock, Jordan, Crimson and Alie Silvey.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or the Taylor Relford Accident Fund.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 until the time of the service.
