Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel for George David "Dixie" Lumpkin, 65, of Hokes Bluff. George went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, after an extended battle with cancer. The Revs. Tommy Hutt and Johnny Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home and Crematory will direct.

Mr. Lumpkin was employed with Conway Freight. He retired in 2011 with 23 years of service. He competed in the National Truck Driving Championship in 1993, 1997 and 2003. He won the grand state championship in 2007.
Mr. Lumpkin is survived by his wife of 30 years, Pamela; son, Kevin (Dorinda) Lumpkin; daughters, Laura Minyard, Brandy (James) Smith and Erica (Zac) Shirley; grandchildren, Michaela, Zac, Baylee, Courtney, Blakley, Phoenix and Emily; sister, Wanda Minter; brother, Richard Lumpkin; and mother-in-law, Ms. Frances Otwell.
Pallbearers will be Zac Shirley, James Smith, Zac Minyard, Lenn Hill, Eddie Park, Cole Lumpkin, Scott Lumpkin and Harry Foster.
Honorary pallbearers will be Weiss Lake Tractor Club, the Beans and Greens Breakfast Club, and special friend "Cowboy."
Special thanks to Southern Care Hospice, especially Amy, Cindy, Meagan and Jesse.
Visitation will be held Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
