Mr. Lee was born in Shelby County, AL, on Dec. 20, 1919, to Oliver and Mary Hughes Lee. He moved to Etowah County in 1928, where he later met and married the love of his life, Bonnie Mae Pruitt, in 1940, his faithful companion of 63 years. He entered the U.S. Army in 1944, serving in Japan, obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He worked at Dwight Mills, Attalla Pipe Foundry and retired from Bowman Transportation Co. After retirement, he worked as a door greeter at Wal-Mart, meeting many wonderful people. He was a very compassionate man and loved all people. He treated people the way he wanted to be treated.
He had a great love for his Heavenly father, his wife, his three daughters and their families. He will be greatly missed by his family and the many who knew him. He was a born-again Christian, a member of Gospel Temple Christian Center and an avid reader of his Bible.
