Mrs. Lynn was a devout member of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church for more than 50 years, during which time she worked with children and adults in growing their faith through the Sunday School classes she taught. Prior to that, she taught at Hurst Street Baptist Church. For many years, Mrs. Lynn sold Avon and became close friends with so many wonderful people that she came to love as family.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her grandchildren, Lisa (Stephan) Stuelp, Vickie Griffin, Jason (Christie) Lynn, and Lori Carden; chosen grandson, Steve Bradley; and her daughter-in-law, Becky Lynn. Ida had twelve great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Noah, Cody, Julie, Lauren, Kayla, Alex, Tori, Taylor, Logan, Brandon, Angel and Anthony. She also had nine great-grandchildren she adored, as well as a host of special nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lynn loved spending time with her family and friends and always had a loving smile for everyone she met. If you knew her for more than a minute, you knew of her love for our Savior. Welcoming her in Heaven were her beloved husband, Burnes, and son, Lamar. She was also reunited with her parents, Robert and Lunia Kilgro, and her brothers and sister whom she missed so dearly.
The family would like to express the most sincere appreciation to the staff of Paden Ridge Assisted Living for the loving care provided to our grandmother in her final months.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church, with honorary pallbearers being grandsons and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
