Funeral services for Jimmy Wright Weaver, 80, of Gadsden, who passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel. The Rev. Tommy Marshall will officiate. Burial will follow in Crestwood Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Chapel & Cemetery is in charge of services.
Mr. Weaver served in the U.S. Navy and was retired from Unique Motorcars. He was a member of Emma Sansom class of 1950. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; mother, Bonnie Freeman; father, Bobby Weaver; sister, Doris Renfroe; and several nephews.
He is survived by his children, Maurice (Kim), Rick and Alan (Paulette); grandchildren, Kristy (Derek) Hood, Jerrod Weaver and fiancée, Lida Johnson, Megan Weaver and fiancé, Jon Player, and Emma, Chris Weaver, Lauren Weaver and fiancé, Evan Knowles, and Josh (Josie) Phillips; great-grandchild, Leila Knowles; chosen son, Tommy Early; and chosen daughter, Blythe Nichols.
Pallbearers will be Jerrod Weaver, Chris Weaver, Jon Player, Derek Hood, Josh Phillips, Terry Harbin and Randy Harbin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Godfrey, Gerald Hickman, Kenneth Ellis, Jack Mayes, Richard Hill, Carl Burroughs and Earl Smith.
Special thanks to Dr. Carpenter, Dr. Sengar, Dr. Hakim, Dr. McGwier and Dr. Pirani.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tabernacle building fund, 1301 S. 11th St., Gadsden, AL 35901.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
