Mrs. Lela Louise Richardson, 74, of Southside, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018. Funeral Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the hour of service at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. The Rev. Bob Hundley will officiate, with music given by her nephew, Mike Sargent. Interment with committal service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Alexandria. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation services is directing.
Louise was a native and longtime resident of Gadsden and Southside. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed time spent with her friends at TOPS. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond measure and cherished time spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Bill Smith; sister, Linda Gaylor; brothers, Leonard and Carl Griffith.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Amos Wilson Richardson; daughters, Karon Skinner and Deborah (Chris) Zowodny; sons, Tony (Denise) Richardson and Mike (Laurie) Richardson; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Darlene Martin and Charlene Litwin; brothers, John (Doris) Smith and Michael Griffith; several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to dear friends, Dr. Naughton and Dr. Quilon.
