Mrs. Mary Stanley Baker, 96, Centre, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Cherokee Health and Rehab.

Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Long officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the hour of service today.
Mrs. Baker was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Roxie McGhee Stanley. She was a school teacher and a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and was once active in the Home Demonstration Club.
She is survived by her son, Billy Joe (Joan) Baker, Centre; daughter, Pat (Jerry) Lockridge, Centre; sister-in-law, Myra Baker; grandchildren, Jamie (Richard) Coker, Stephen Baker, Geana (Scott) McCombs, Mark (Kelly) Baker and Jed (Jennifer) Lockridge; great-grandchildren, Jeb Coker, Shavna Baker, Jari Hope Coker, Haley Baker, Jaren Lockridge, Jacy Coker and Jy Lockridge; and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Baker.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Fairview United Methodist Church or the cemetery fund.
Perry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
