Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Michael McClellan, 65, Gadsden, who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Patterson will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. McClellan was a retired sergeant of the Gadsden Police Department, where he worked for 24 years. He was a member of Carnes Baptist Church and an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Emma McClellan; and sister, Lynette Whitt.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl McClellan; daughter, Tammy McClellan (Bobby) Boles; grandson, Joshua Taylor Green; chosen grandson, Skyler Westberry; brother, Randy (Dot) McClellan; sisters, Jane (Randall) Battles, Melba (Larry) Jolly and Mary "Lucy" McClellan; brothers-in-laws, Terry (Judy) Gibbs and Ricky (Melinda) Browning; special friends, Robert Taylor and Roy Harbin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Gadsden Police Department.
Special thanks to the MICU and SICU staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Dr. H. Patel, Karen Harris, Tracy Gibbs and Conswaela Kirby.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
